Tone matters

The school or preschool is not a battlefield between adults. Your first message should be calm, short, and practical.

What you can prepare

• your child's name or whatever identification the school needs,
• your contact details,
• a request to be added as a contact,
• a request for organizational information,
• a question about the electronic record/portal or the channel of communication.

What not to write

Don't open with accusations against the other parent. Don't demand instant decisions in an emotional tone. Don't send private screenshots.

"I would like to receive ongoing organizational information about my child and to use the school's official channel of communication."
