Mediation: how to prepare without a list of accusations
Reading time approx. 2 min · Fundacja One Reason
The purpose of mediation
Mediation is not a stage for delivering a winning speech. It is meant to help you settle practical rules that reduce the chaos around your child.
Prepare three lists
- your child's matters that need to be settled,
- events and dates without judgements,
- proposed solutions.
What not to prepare
Do not prepare a list of insults, diagnoses of the other parent, or private screenshots containing your child's data.
A good sentence
"I want to agree on how we pass on information about the child's school, health and appointments, so that the child does not become a messenger."
After mediation
Write down what you agreed, the date, and the questions that need legal advice.
